Remember when I said we had a trip to the Lake District planned? Well, this weekend was when we went. We drove up the roughly 300 miles yesterday and are - as I am writing this - already on our way back to Poole. It was a flying visit but an exciting one. Why? Adam bought a new car! He traded in his VW Golf for a Golf R - a beautiful Tornado Red machine that is comfortable, fun to drive, smart, and very, very fast. It’s a lovely car I have to say, even though I’m not really into fast, race-like driving. But I’m sure it will take us fun places and allow us to explore new areas that we haven’t been to before.

At the end of this weekend I feel pretty exhausted but it was also good to catch up with family. From Thursday next week we’re off on a short holiday - more family time. But before that happens I have got a few fun bits and pieces from around the internet to share with you all! Enjoy!

Gourmet grub for campers

We don't really do much car camping. But if we did I'd love to try some fancier one-pot or pan meals. There's so much stuff you can whip up with the most basic ingredients. If you are in need of inspiration, take a look at this book.

Check out the cookbook.

You slept where?!

Have you ever come across one of those stunning photos of a tent pitched right on a cliff, an overhang, or another completely ridiculous spot and thought "yeah, right!"? So have the guys behind the Instagram account @youdidnotsleepthere. Take a look!

The world's smallest travel gadget

If you travel even just fairly regularly you probably have a vast collection of various plugs or a bulky travel adapter of some sort flying around. The "MICRO" Kickstarter is hoping to bring an end to that by having developed this teeny-tiny adapter that takes up no space and is very practical. I'd have one anyway!
